DocControl DMS integrates with a state government land
mapping system.
Customer Challenge
The Perak State Town & Rural Planning Department or
Jabatan Perancang Bandar dan Desa Perak (JPBDP) is one of the most
technology advanced state government departments in
Malaysia.
It has implemented several systems to make automate many of the
department’s business processes. This includes the
DocControl Document Management System, and its subsequent integration
with the MapInfo GIS system and a pre-existing workflow system for
document approvals. Its Director has identified specific requirements
for the DMS project including electronic document registration for the
department’s correspondences and other state documents and the ability
to automatic locate documents relevant to a selected land parcel.
CDMR DocControl Solution
Integrating a customized
DocControl Search Module with the existing GIS system, and installing
the standard DocControl system for the electronic registration of all
documents. Therefore, JPBDP users can access all their documents,
whether as links from the mapping system or from documents registered by
their indexing clerks, from one interface. Once integration work is
fully completed, JPBDP will be one of the most advanced state government
departments, where relevant documents can be retrieved quickly, maps can
be launched with a few mouse clicks, and the land approval process is
fully automated.
